TITLE: Personal Trainer
DEPARTMENT: Rehab Services - Anytime Fitness
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Club Manager – Anytime Fitness
Position Summary:
An Anytime Fitness® Personal Fitness Trainer (PFT) focuses primarily on helping all members “get to a healthier place.” A PFT must possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to create and conduct safe and effective exercise for a wide variety of participants. In addition, he/she must be comfortable and confident with fitness program design, program instruction, and influencing behavior change. The PFT does this by servicing Fitness Consultations, Traditional (1-on-1) Training, Small Group Training, Virtual Training and additional programming opportunities as deemed appropriate by the individual club. Beyond the traditional roles described, the PFT provides guidance, education, and encouragement and most importantly, develops relationships with all members to improve retention. AF expects PFTs to possess above average customer service skills and be on a mission to provide a “surprisingly personable experience” with everyone he/she meets. Trainers are responsible for the general upkeep of the club (equipment and floor cleanliness), sales and marketing for programming, and proactive outreach to inactive members to assist in retention efforts.
Essential Functions:
- Maximize sales opportunities and achieve personal sales goals
- Set daily sales appointments and conduct club tours
- Offer information on proper use of exercise equipment
- Monitor fitness room as members use exercise equipment
- Motivate and educate fitness members in leading healthy lifestyles
- Maintains equipment and a clean and inviting environment for members
- Involvement in community
Non-Essential Functions:
- Operation of office equipment
- Performs other duties as assigned
Position Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Nationally Accredited Personal Training Certification
- Must have passion for health and fitness and helping others get healthy
- Must have the desire and capacity to train all fitness levels, novice to elite
- Must be outgoing with exceptional customer service skills
- Experience in sales, fitness, health, teaching fitness classes, and / or personal training certification a plus, but not required. Will train the right person
- Self-motivated with the ability to work unsupervised
- Ability to multi-task while staying organized
- Positive, motivating with excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of basic office equipment including common computer programs
- Flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings
