TITLE: CT Technologist

DEPARTMENT: Diagnostic Imaging

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR JOB TITLE: Director of Diagnostic Imaging

Position Summary

The CT Technologist operates CT equipment to make clinical diagnostic x-ray films as directed by physicians. Performs age-specific, routine diagnostic procedures according to established standards and practices. The CT Technologist may assist in other areas of Diagnostic Imaging such as MRI, Mammography, stereotactic and DEXA.

Essential Functions

  • Operates CT equipment to make clinical diagnostic images as directed by a physician.
  • Performs routine diagnostic procedures according to established standards and practices.
  • Performs daily QA on CT equipment per manufacturer’s specifications.
  • Administers oral contrast to patients prior to the scan.
  • Documents all patient history to meet department policy and protocol.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possesses the ability to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his / her age-specific needs.

Non-essential Functions

  • Assists with MRI, Mammography, Stereotactic and DEXA duties, as needed.
  • Assists Registration by moving patients from pre-registration status to active status.
  • Assists secretary by burning CD’s for patients that require them.
  • Assists with maintaining American College of Radiology accreditation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited program in Radiologic Technology.
  • Valid Ohio Radiologic License.
  • Has passed the ARRT certification exam and maintains current ARRT registry.
  • Must fulfill weekend, holiday and call requirements.
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS
