TITLE:  Nutritional Services Aide                           

DEPARTMENT:   Nutritional Services          

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR JOB TITLE:   Nutritional Services Leader

Position Summary

Works under the supervision of the Nutritional Services Leader to perform a variety of duties in the Nutritional Services Department, including assisting with the preparation of food, tray assembly, transporting and passing trays to patients, assisting with wrapping, labeling and proper storage of food products, operation of the dish machine, washing and sanitizing of pots and pans and thorough cleaning of the entire Nutritional Svs department and dining area before closing the kitchen. All tasks are performed in strict accordance with Local, State and Federal regulations.

Essential Functions

  • Assists with the quality preparation of food in accordance with Local, State and Federal regulations.
  • Responsible answering room service calls, tray set up and delivery of trays in accordance with hospital policies.
  • Responsible for maintaining sanitation and cleanliness of the food preparation area and equipment. Uses floor care equipment to clean in the department.
  • Assists with preparation for hospital events.

Non-essential Functions

  • Actively participates in process improvement, hospital committees/projects establish personal goals that align with the departmental goals.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
  • Prior food service experience preferred.
  • Ability to read, write as well as understand written and oral instruction. An understanding of simple math concepts.
