TITLE: RN/LPN

DEPARTMENT: Wound Center

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Wound Reconstruction Center Director

Position Summary:

RN/LPN is primarily responsible for the delivery of safe effective and quality patient-family centered care in the office setting. Is also responsible and accountable for providing wound, ostomy and continence care to patients and families in conjunction with the physician. He/she is responsible for assisting the physician and office staff in the care of the patient and documentation of the patient experience in the patient record. Applies knowledge of medical terminology and procedures to provide administrative support to associated staff and patients. Plans, prioritizes and organizes the activities of the Wound Center.

Essential Functions:

  • Acknowledges patient in a pleasant and professional manner as they present to the office.
  • Completes initial patient assessment and prepares patient for physician visit.
  • Completes and maintains patient’s EMR/chart documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Maintains and troubleshoots scheduling and registering of patients, as well as assisting with preparation for patient interventional treatment.
  • Documents to reflect a complete picture of patient care in reference to the patient condition and needs in a timely manner.
  • Participates in quality improvement by valuing and acting on feedback provided to maintain an effective workplace environment

Non-Essential Functions:

  • Assists other staff members during times of increased workload
  • Operation of office equipment
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

  • Current Ohio Licensure as a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Previous experience in a wound center or outpatient setting preferred
  • To include but not limited to knowledge of: Basic office procedures, computer skills, medical terminology, and office systems
  • Possess knowledge of basic office equipment including but not restricted to: typewriters, calculators, common computer programs (ie. Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel), copy and fax machines.
  • Computer proficiency and technical aptitude with the ability to utilize computer programs
  • American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS

Physical Requirements:

Medium Work – Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
